Port Dover


Welcome to Port Dover, the jewel of Ontario’s South Coast (pop. 7870). In its earlier days Port Dover became famous for its fishing industry but tourism is now a strong industry in Port Dover attracting all ages and walks of life. If you are craving an Arbor hot dog or an afternoon at the beach, this is the place for you. The pier welcomes anglers and sightseers watching all of the boats coming in and out of the harbour. All ages enjoy watching the fishing tugs return with their catch at the end of the day. The Lighthouse Festival Theatre in the core of downtown, enjoys record crowds each season. Restaurants are filled with people eating Lake Erie perch and pickerel. Boaters love the Port Dover Harbour Marina. Unique to the town is the vibrant Port Dover Harbour Museum. There are many shops and places to visit and, also you can visit the only Farmer’s Market that is open year-round on Saturdays. For hikers and cyclists, the Lynn Valley Trail connects Port Dover to the town of Simcoe.
